Cobb Summer Swim League Rules
As a member of the Cobb Summer Swim League (CSSL), our team must follow all their rules. The CSSL manual may be found on our website under General Policies. Some of the rules we need to point out include:
- Swimmers are not allowed to wear any competitive club or high school team gear including suits, caps, or t-shirts.
- No smoking or drinking of alcoholic beverages by parents or volunteers is allowed on deck. Please make sure your family members and other visitors know this rule. In 2013, CSSL Cobb Summer Swim League adopted the following rule regarding alcohol possession at a swim meet: 1st offense – meet will be stopped and alcohol will be removed from the meet, 2nd offense – a written warning from Cobb Summer Swim League will be issued to the individual(s) and 3rd offense – a $250 fine will be charged to the individual(s). We ask that you comply with this rule and show respect for the swimmers and volunteers who would like to continue to enjoy summer swim.
- All events that require the swimmer to enter the pool in the shallow end will be started with the swimmer sitting on the edge of the pool (a sit start). This rule only affects relay events for the younger swimmers (6 & under, 7 & 8, 9 & 10). The rule will be explained to the swimmers during practice.
- All parents/guardians are required to read the Georgia Return to Play Bill 2013 and concussion information, which is also a requirement with our online registration. A concussion form needs to be signed for each participating swimmer.
